Lamps made from metal reclaimed from the Thames. Some pieces of metal used in these pieces are up to 300 years old, possibly from ships. Other pieces are modern. They have all been discarded into the river and have found new life as part of a different object. A specific sub-genre of found art is known as trash art or junk art. These works primarily comprise components that have been discarded and it is in this genre that these sculpture may be placed. They extend this by becoming utilitarian objects, which most componant pieces probably were.
